Other books worth reading

Here are affiliate links to a few more of my favorite books on Python and Business topics:

The Deitel Python textbook Intro to Python for Computer Science and Data Science: Learning to Program with AI, Big Data and The Cloud.
If you want to learn much more detail about Python (e.g. you are considering becoming a full-time Python developer), then you might benefit from this one. It is well-written and comprehensive, weighing in at over 800 pages.

Jeff Knupp’s Writing Idiomatic Python.
A great, short (100-page) read for those coming to Python from other programming languages. This was the book that opened my eyes to the power of list-, set- and dict-comprehensions.

Wes McKinney’s Python for Data Analysis: Data Wrangling with Pandas, NumPy, and IPython.
Written by the main author of the pandas library, this 450-page volume goes into detail on the raw number-crunching aspects of Python that Business Python only skims the surface of. Be aware that the learning curve for these libraries is steep, but if you need them, you need them.

Gerald Swanson’s The Hyperinflation Survival Guide: Strategies for American Businesses.
Written in the 80s, this short (87-page) research product is based on the experience of Latin American companies that survived (and that didn’t survive) local hyperinflations. The subtitle notwithstanding, there are timeless lessons here that (who knows?) may be relevant for some of us in the not-too-distant future.
